There has been a recurrent theme in the last week, where several customers have come to us having been offered the same hearing aids for a higher price elsewhere. This has made some customers feel quite angry but are now happy again having visited us at Hearing Wales.
We thought some of the examples would be useful to include in our blog, because there are some important lessons to be learned, particularly when it comes to older technology. At Hearing Wales, we feel strongly that everyone should be able to access honest advice, up to date technology and fair prices.
Customer One – Saved £450
Mr Hants from Bridgend booked an appointment with Amplivox because he was attracted by their price match promise. He was recommend a pair of GN Resound Linx 7s which he agreed to purchase. On returning home, Mr Hants looked on the internet and discovered that Hearing Wales was able to offer the same hearing aids for a lot less money.
Mr Hants booked into our local clinic in Bridgend, and was delighted that he not only saved himself £450 but he now has an extra 2 years warranty (4 altogether).
Customer Two – Was Being Sold Old Technology by Boots
Mr Hadley from Cowbridge went for a hearing test at Boots in Cardiff and was recommended to purchase a pair of Phonak hearing aids from the Quest range. On returning home, Mr Hadley did some research online and discovered that the Quest range of technology from Phonak has been superseded by the Venture range, which was launched earlier this year.
He arranged a test with Hearing Wales at our clinic in Cowbridge, and was able to receive a pair of Phonak V70 hearing aids for the same price as Boots were charging him for the older Q70 hearing aids. Coupled with the additional 3 year warranty (5 altogether), and free home visits for the lifetime of the hearing aids, Mr Hadley says he’s ‘over the moon’.
What You Need To Remember
If you have had a price for a hearing aid elsewhere, it is well worth getting a quote or even just an opinion from us. We will tell you if the price is fair and whether it is the most up to date technology. Call us now for an instant quote. Click here.
But we always say that one of the most important things to consider when purchasing hearing aids is about the level of aftercare you are going to receive. Hopefully, you will be wearing those aids for 5,6,7 or more years, so you need to make sure that you will be able to get regular appointments with your provider for servicing, check ups and adjustments.
