Fresh from his first Iron Man, Hearing Wales Director Ben Davies is putting his running shoes on for charity again – this time in a grueling Ultra Marathon that takes in some of Wales’s most beautiful – and challenging scenery.
Ben is raising money for the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf charity by taking on the 70km Run Walk Crawl Ultra from Brecon to Cardiff. The race follows the Taff Trail and starts in the Brecon Beacons National Park with its dramatic mountain landscapes, crashing waterfalls and crystal reservoirs.
The Hearing Wales Director chose Hearing Dogs for Deaf People as his fundraising charity.
He said:
“I had never done anything like this before setting out on last year’s Iron Man Wales, and I really didn’t know what to expect.
“It was an amazing event – our country has some incredible scenery for running and biking – we are very lucky.
“Having a Hearing Dog gives Deaf and hard of hearing people more confidence when they are out and about. It’s a really important charity, and I’ve seen first hand with some of our customers how their lives have been transformed.”
Ben and the rest of the Ultra runners will be starting out from Brecon on Sunday morning 11th February.
